About Hair and Scalp Treatment

What is a hair and scalp treatment?

A hair and scalp treatment, sometimes called hair rejuvenation or non surgical hair restoration, covers treatments that work on your scalp and on the follicles you already have. It is not a hair transplant, and it cannot regrow hair where follicles have been lost completely. What it aims to do is support follicles that have become weaker, so they can produce stronger hair for longer.

The most common reasons people come to us are:

  • Pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), which shows as a receding hairline or thinning crown in men, and a widening parting or overall thinning in women.
  • Shedding after a trigger (telogen effluvium), such as illness, stress, surgery, a crash diet or having a baby.
  • Thinning with age, where hair becomes finer and the scalp shows through more easily.

Scalp treatments work on the same principles as our skin rejuvenation treatments: gentle, controlled stimulation of the scalp, and delivering growth factors, peptides and vitamins to where the follicles sit.

Scalp Health

Hair care that starts with the scalp

Why it matters

A healthy scalp

Hair grows from follicles in the scalp. Congestion, dryness and poor circulation around them can leave hair looking thinner and weaker, so every plan starts with a close look at your scalp.

How we help

Treatments for the scalp

Scalp microneedling, mesotherapy and Dermalux LED support circulation, hydration and the scalp’s natural renewal, alongside PRP or exosomes for the follicles themselves.

When we refer you

Some problems need a diagnosis

Psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, infections or sudden patchy hair loss need your GP or a dermatologist first. If we see signs of these at your consultation, we will tell you.

Who It Is For

Who hair and scalp treatment is for

✓Men with early male pattern hair loss at the temples or crown
✓Women with a widening parting or general thinning, including around the menopause
✓People whose hair has shed after illness, stress or pregnancy, once the trigger has settled
✓People already using medical treatments for hair loss who want to add a clinic treatment
✓Anyone with a dry, tired or congested scalp who wants to improve its condition
When we suggest you see someone else first

Sudden patchy hair loss, a red, scaly, itchy or painful scalp, scarring on the scalp, or hair loss alongside other symptoms such as tiredness or weight change should be checked by your GP, a dermatologist or a trichologist before any clinic treatment.

Your GP can also check iron, thyroid and vitamin levels, which are common and fixable causes of thinning. We will always tell you if treatment here is not the right first step.

Hair and Scalp Treatment FAQs

Answers to the questions we are asked most often about hair loss treatment. If yours is not here, ask us at your free consultation.

A clinical scalp treatment works on the skin of the scalp and the hair follicles in it, rather than just the hair. At our clinic that means treatments such as scalp microneedling, scalp mesotherapy, Dermalux LED, PRP and exosomes, chosen after a free consultation to support scalp health and hair that is thinning or shedding.

It can help, particularly for early pattern hair loss and shedding after a trigger, but it does not work for everyone. PRP has the most research behind it among non surgical options. The best candidates still have hair in the thinning areas, because treatment supports existing follicles rather than creating new ones.

PRP for hair loss at 360 Degree Clinic is £275 a session or £650 for a course of three. Scalp microneedling, mesotherapy and exosome treatments are priced at your free consultation, because most plans combine them.

Most people start with three to six sessions about four weeks apart, then a maintenance session every four to six months if they have responded well.

Hair grows slowly, so patience matters. Extra shedding often settles first, and new growth is usually judged at around three to six months, once the course is complete. Taking your own photos in the same light each month is the easiest way to see the change.

A short spell of extra shedding in the first few weeks can happen after scalp treatments, as weaker hairs make way for new growth. It usually settles within a few weeks. If it carries on or worries you, contact us and we will see you.

We use numbing and a fine needle, and most clients describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful. The session is short and the scalp may feel tender for a day.

We usually advise waiting until the next day before washing your hair. For 24 to 48 hours it is best to avoid hair dye, heavy styling products, saunas, swimming and hard exercise. We go through your aftercare with you before you leave.

Very little. Most people return to work the same day. We ask you not to wash your hair for around 24 hours and to avoid heavy exercise, saunas and hair colouring for a few days.

A healthier scalp gives your follicles a better environment, which is why scalp microneedling, mesotherapy and LED are often used alongside PRP. On their own they are best for supporting scalp condition. For pattern hair loss we usually recommend combining them with PRP or exosomes.

We can assess your scalp and recommend treatments to support its condition. Ongoing itching, scaling or redness can be a sign of a skin condition such as psoriasis or seborrhoeic dermatitis, which needs diagnosis by your GP or a dermatologist, so we will suggest that first where needed.

Yes. Many of our hair clients are women with a widening parting, thinning after pregnancy or thinning around the menopause. PRP and scalp treatments are not carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

PRP uses growth factors from your own blood, so a blood sample is needed. Exosomes are a ready made serum applied after microneedling, with no blood draw. PRP has more published research. Exosomes are newer and some people use them as an alternative or alongside PRP.

No. Where follicles have gone completely, such as long standing smooth bald patches, scalp treatments cannot bring them back. In that case a hair transplant specialist is the right person to speak to, and we will tell you so.

Not quite. A trichologist specialises in diagnosing hair and scalp conditions. We are an aesthetic and wellbeing clinic offering clinical hair and scalp treatments. If your consultation suggests you need a diagnosis first, we will tell you and suggest a GP, dermatologist or trichologist.
