Cellulite is extremely common. Most women have some, whatever their size or fitness level, so it is not a sign that you are doing anything wrong. Treatment can improve how it looks. It cannot make it disappear for good, and we will always be straight with you about that.
What Cellulite Is and Why It Forms
Under the skin, bands of connective tissue run down from the skin to the deeper layers and hold everything in place. Fat sits in the pockets between those bands. When the fat pushes upwards and the bands pull downwards, the surface of the skin looks uneven, which is the dimpling we call cellulite.
It is far more common in women than men, largely because of the way these bands are arranged in female skin, and because of hormones. Genetics, age, thinning skin, weight changes and fluid retention all make it more or less visible. Slim, active people get cellulite too.

How SmartSculpt Pro Treats Cellulite
SmartSculpt Pro works on two parts of the problem at once:
- The skin. Radiofrequency warmth reaches the deeper layers of the skin and encourages new collagen. Firmer, thicker skin shows less of the unevenness underneath.
- The fat beneath. The same warmth targets the fat layer, with the aim of reducing the pockets of fat that push up between the bands.
During a session the practitioner moves a handpiece over the area. It feels like deep warmth, often compared to a hot stone massage, and skin temperature is monitored the whole time. Sessions take 20 to 60 minutes depending on the area, and you can go straight back to your day.
What Results to Expect
Changes are gradual. Most clients have a course of 8 sessions on each area, and skin tends to look smoother over the course and in the weeks after. How much improvement you see depends on how visible your cellulite is to start with, your skin and your lifestyle.
Results last longer when your weight stays stable and you keep active. Because cellulite is partly down to the structure of your skin, it can gradually return, so some clients book occasional top up sessions.

Cellulite or Lipoedema?
Lipoedema is a different condition that is sometimes mistaken for cellulite. It usually causes fat to build up evenly on both legs, and sometimes the arms, while the feet and hands are not affected. The area can feel painful or tender, bruise easily, and does not shrink with diet or exercise.
SmartSculpt Pro is not a treatment for lipoedema. If this sounds familiar, speak to your GP before booking any cosmetic treatment. We will also raise it with you at consultation if we think it could apply.

Your treatment is carried out by our practitioner, who has more than six years of hands on experience with laser, SmartSculpt and microneedling devices. Good results depend on choosing the right settings for each area and skin type, and on being honest with you about what the treatment can and cannot do.
Cellulite Treatment for Clients in Kingston upon Thames
We are on Victoria Road in Surbiton, a short trip from Kingston upon Thames.
